Post difference in connectors

i got a nylint 1:18, looking at getting a higher mah battery for longer runtime. the 1:18 has a tamiya (sp?) plug, some batteries at tower hobbies say standard plug but looks like mine. is it the same? and is there a good website with a tutorial or info on making my own battery pack?
