| drill motor power plant
has anyone ever used a cordless drill motor for their crawler, Ive got an old 9.6 v dewalt with a locked up chuck and am considering it as my powerplant, Ive tried it with 7.2 volts and it isnt fast but still enough torque to take off your hand

is that the 550 can one or the 700 can one? both would work, but the big guy is just too plain heavy for most rigs. It would make performance suffer.

| I thought about using the same thing once, but the output shaft was too short. -WRM |

| HAHAHA, Man that is funny. I took the motor out of my 14.4 volt Craftsman ,and wanted to ask about putting it in my TLT. I didn't want to get flammed. When I saw this post I damn near fell out of my seat from laughing! Does the motor work for you? My motor "feels" like it has a lot of torque. Lemme know what happens! |

I pulled the motor out of the drill last night, I was hoping to use the 2 speed tranny from the drill but thats a nogo. The motor is huge and with were I have to mount it is going to take some extra work. Most likely I will need to run lead weights in the tires to offset the weight (its a 700 can size motor) but I can see this thing putting out more torgue than I need (moooooore power)
