| Problems with my Traxxas TQ3 Hey guy/gals, I'm having some trouble with my Traxxas TQ3 radio system. I built a TLT crawler, and I bought a TQ3 system for it. I also purchased the rear steer 3-way switch upgrade from The Crawler Store and installed it using their instructions. The system is hooked up to a LRP Runner Digital+Reverse ESC. Okay, here's the problem - when I power the truck and radio up, the steering wheel controls the throttle, and there's absolutely no steering input at all. I've tried plugging the ESC into all 3 different channels, and the only one that works at all is the one I'm having problems with. I don't get any steering input no matter what channel the servo is connected to. Anybody have an idea of what's going on, or have had a similar problem? Thanks in advance. Sounds like you could have a bad servo. I would check all the channels of your reciver with another servo.

Okay I'll try that...but what about the throttle control? I can only get the steering wheel to contorl it. Is there a way you need to configure the radio or something to get it to control the throttle by using the trigger? Last edited by ChavezSA; 01-07-2006 at 06:32 PM. |

| Now I'm getting a different result. I connect the ESC to the receiver and power is delivered to both the motor and the servo (both get a power glitch during connection), but there's absolutely no input control from the transmitter, for either function. This is confusing. P.S. A little more info. The receiver is a Traxxas 2215 3 channel receiver. It came with the radio set. The servo is a used Futaba S3003 that came with my TLT when I bought it used. |

That on is hard, but you could have either a bad radio or reciver? Are the batteries in the radio new?

The batteries in the radio are fully charged... In the meantime, since I can't get my TQ3 working, I've wired up my JR radio system with the Futaba servo. It seems to be working fine, so it isn't a problem with the servo. It has to be either the radio or the receiver. Personally, I think it's a bad receiver. I'm going to experiment with my friend's TQ3 and try to determine if that's the problem or not. |
