| why is my reverse faster then foward?
took out stock axial esc and put in a traxxas xl-5.I matched my wires red on red n black on black.now reverse is faster then foward.could it be that the wires coming out of my motor a little thinner then the wires coming from my esc?thanks

| reverse the wires on your motor/esc and it will be faster forward or just go buy a Novak Rooster Crawler ESC and it will be fast forward and reverse.

the motor ur using likely has the timing retarded slightly, thats how stock axial and tamiya motors are which will make it spin faster one direction. changing tthe esc will not change it, the only way to change that is a new motor with an adjustable endbell.

| What he said. I have a xl-5 and Had the same problem. Adjust your timing if its adjustable.

Reverse the wires on your motor, then flip the switch on your radio for the throttle channel. See if that fixes it.

I'd go with what duuuude says. The wires on your motor may actually be reversed, so switch them and try it. Also try reprogramming the speed control as well.
