Throw the Tamiya connectors in the trash before they melt and go buy you some deans plugs, esp if your running LIPO.

Deans, EC3, traxxas, bullets and so on are MUCH better connectors... me... I'm a deans guy and have been for close to twenty years.

Ya, I melted plenty of them with 1500-2000 Ni-Cads back in the day. Plus they get loose and cut power in and out, hurt your punch and runtime with thier high resistance. Worst of all is if a wire gets shorted or something else goes wrong and you need to unplug to shut down they melt and stick together, frying more parts. If your already soldering on a new connector do yourself a huge favor and go ahead and get some decent plugs.

I think most everyone agrees on this. Replaced everything I have with Deans, no more worries. They don't hold up to very many amps, I've seen them melt with just the power of a small 6 cell Ni-cad.
