Default how to test NICD batteries

I have a box of these old batteries wondering if there is a way to test them? all my stuff runs deans and these have some old style hate to change them all to charge and run them. Any way other way?

best way would be to build a deans to tamiya adapter

you can get an adapter at your local hobby store for about $5.00
