Default ~castle field programmer on a HH BR-XL esc?~

I posted this in the Holmes forum...but I know he said he was busy with school and may not be available as much as he would like so...I will ask the rcc members..
anybody have the new castle field programmer??
I would like to pick one up so I can change back and fourth from 3s to 4s when fun crawling(I comp with 4s but have lots of 3s for fun crawling)....but does the castle field programmer work with the HH BR-XL's???
thanks

The card is programmed to work with the latest controllers and software when it leaves the Castle workshop. It will work with all Castle Link compatible controllers running software released since 2007.
John's esc is castle compliant for computers and the phoenix/castle link, so I don't see any reason that it would not work.

You won't be able to set certain features, such as the Holmes Hold, or access features that aren't available yet, but it seems like it would work just fine for setting the lipo cutoff.

I'm thinking about buying one because I switch between 2s and 3s. It does get annoying setting it every time. I don't use auto lipo with my cheap hobbyking lipo's, I like them set to 3.3V cutoff instead of 3.0V.

It sounds like the Auto detect cut-off is perfect for you.

This was John's reply when I asked about these:

"They will work as Castle link mode, but they are not compatible as Field programmers yet. I have a totally different set of features and would need custom field programmers made for me, which I am looking into. "

You can choose the number of cells or just Auto. Auto is set at 3v per cell, no matter if you put 2, 3 or 4 in...

It's the LiPo cutoff for dummies...all mine are set that way...
