| Anyone using a hitec hs-7950TH???
As the title says, I am wondering if anyone is using the hitec hs-7950TH steering servo. I just smoked my hitec 7955 (it literally smoked) and I would like to upgrade. I have also considered the JR 8711, but don't know which one to get. Any experiences with either of these two servos? Let me know what you guys think I should get. Price really isn't a concern, so I'm open to any suggestions. I would like to get something with 400+ oz of torque. Thanks. |

I switched from the 7955TG to the 7950TH. Run it at 7v's and it's alot stronger than the 7955. And RPP still has them on sale!!!! Don't know about the 8711 http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/hrc37950s.htm |

I switched over to the 7950TH's on my rigs also. Loving the extra grunt on the new units. Cheers, Mike. |

I am running them on my super. They are not quite enough for it, but I think they would be great on a 2.2. I run a JR8711 on my Berg. It is strong and much quieter than the Hitec servos, but lots of people have been having durability issues with them. I am as tough as anyone ( 60 foot tumbles and 6-8 foot drops) and mine is going like a champ. I just finally broke the mounting ears off the case, but have a new one coming. The Hitec is cheaper and seems to work just as well, and is probably just as strong or stronger. Whatever is easier for you to get would be the best answer. RPP having them on sale sealed the deal for the Hitec servos on my super.

I think I'm fixing to pull the trigger on one of these (7950), but to be honest, I'm wondering if it's too strong. I'm currently using a 133oz servo that is waaaayyyy underpowered for serious crawling, and I was all set to go for something in the 333oz range. that's what I've seen working and doing a great job. Now this monster comes along, and I'm really wondering if I won't start breaking other front end pieces with it - should I save a few bucks and just go with a 333oz servo?

The 7955 is plenty for a 2.2, I feel. There just isn't enough power for some guys. I do agree that it just isn't quite enough for a super.

Go ahead and get the 7950. I have been running mine the last 2 comps and love it. Just leave the CC BEC set to 6.0V like I did. | |
