Exclamation *HELP* Can I Adjust my Cheap Radio/Receiver????

With the setup I currently have, I am getting barely any movement from my servo (steering). I Have a good Hitech servo, but a cheesy HPI receiver / radio. Is there any way to open either the radio or receiver and make any changes to increase how far my servo moves?

i would open it up and look at thesteering pot and see if it turning full throw when it is in the case,,if it isnt look and see if there is a limiter built into the case that keeps it from turning further,,if not you can try puting in a different 5k pot for the steering that has a better throw

What about using a longer servo horn to give the servo more throw?

that will greatly decrease servo torque,,and it wouldnt change the throw degree of rotation

That will reduce the torque applied to the knuckles. You are going to spend more time and energy messing with a crappy radio than it is worth. Search ebay for the FS forum for a cheap used radio.

I took the return spring / stop off inside the radio, and that might of helped a little. still looking for more. I am tired of 40 point turns, I've had crawlers and I know they don't turn well (because of being locked) but my servo needs more throw.

DX3E is $90-100, Airtronics MX-Sport is $80 if you want to get a new radio (which you probably should).
