Default Hobbywing Ezrun Question

Is this motor actually a 540 or is it a 380 in a 540 can?

http://www.valuehobby.com/product_de...32&item_id=195

If it is a 380 would It work well for and scx10?

Yes it does, they are fully programmable. I run the 35a crawler esc in my sportsman rig, the internal bec on them sucks, but while paired with a ccbec they are great esc's!

To those who run EZRUN 35A ESC, is it safe to run without the fan ?

Never tried, but it does have thermal protection.

The fan is a good thing. The small lost in run time is worth it.

You might want to consider not buying a 5.5T 6000Kv for a scaler.

yea deffinatly get a big motor if you can. i got one of there 1/18 combos and the motor that came with it sucked hardcore. luckily i had a castle micro motor layin here and paired it with the esc. i like the esc its alright on my 2s lipo's. so esc=good. but smaller motor= BAD

One of my dads friends has a truck with solid axles front and back that he enters rally hillclimb events with. so its not the normal crawler scaler its gonna be a low ralley type truck, so thats why Im looking at that motor.

It's not about run time but a that little buzzin' fan.

I have a 60A version on my Slash and it's much louder than I like up close.

Since... crawler will be played more up close... I mean there are a lot of ESC that does not have any fans, right?
Heck, Tekin FXR ESC... that thing is tiny, no fan, where is the heatsink on that thing hiding?

I run mine on 3s, so i wired the fan to the reciever (4.8v) and its not loud at all.
