Default Don't buy a Castle Link!

Buy the Portable Field Link Programmer instead:

http://www.castlecreations.com/products/field_link.html

So my old Castle link got crushed and I needed a new one. I looked at the Castle Field Link Portable Programmer as an option.

I know these have been out for a little while but I just got one and had to give this product praise. This thing rocks! It has the same exact functionality as the Castle Link when connected to your PC but can be used in the field as a standalone programmer as well.

One thing to note is that your BEC can only be programmed with a PC and not in the field. The flying version does have the field option. Not sure why they didn't put the capability to program the BEC in the field for the driving version but it works great for their ESC's.

My only complaint is that the "case" (I use that term loosely) is kind of flimsy... but it's not as if the Castle Link is super sturdy either!

If you don't have a Castle Link already, spend a couple bucks more (actually, some retailers sell them for the same price) and buy this instead!

With the CastleLink you can set the drag brake beyond 100%. And throttle and reverse curves...

Definitely better than nothing when out in the field.

Yeah, definitely some limitations when in the field. My point is, you can make all the same settings with the programmer on your PC as the CastleLink, AND you can use it for several field changes i.e. lipo cutoffs etc.

It is built into the Mamba and comes with a plain USB cord. You still have to buy the link if you want to program other ESCs and BECs.
