Default Low run time?

I'm running two 45T silver cans with 13 tooth gears, and a RC4WD outcry esc on my RS10. I'm only getting 45 mins of crawl time on a newer Venom 4600 mAh 7.2V battery. Is this normal? Seems low to me. I'm using an MRC Superbrain 820 charger. Thanks!

Yes that is about normal. Two motors equals twice the power drain.

This is not true. Both motors only have to put out half the effort cause there's two. They do drain a bit more than a single motor cause they double the inefficiantcy of brushed motors.

The problem is probably with that Venom Batt. Might want to try another battery of a higher caliber. I have seen many issues with Venom batteries. Then again some people have used them and are happy with them!

the problem could be the battery or the motor draw because both of those 45t draw as much as a single 22t so with 2 there is more current draw

I'm willing to try another brand. What would you recommend? Thanks for the replies.

If you cant go lipo then go to cheapbatterypacks.com. They can build you any battery you want. Get the higher end cells though. But if you can lipo is the way to go. Unless you are scaling, Lipos dont like water at all! SMC is a good battery if you are looking for a stick pack. Just stay away from the cheap stuff when it come to batteries!

Where have you heard this?

I thought as long as they don't stay submerged (lightly shorting) for days they're fine...? Like if there is somehow a standing pool of water contacting the pos and neg inside the heat shrink around the pack....

I've been submerging mine for about a year... Am I just lucky?

Thanks guys! I'm not quite ready to go lipo yet. I know that time will come, but for now I'm just enjoying crawling with my friends.

In my experience, venom battery packs are worthless. For the same price you can get a dynamite battery pack that will last you a good while. I didn't run my pack for about a year because I use lipos, but I recently charge it again and it works like new.
