Sounds like you might have a brush sticking.

I running a few MC230CR ESC's, so I can tell you they can do the job.

Try this first:
Unscrew the motor and see if it works out of the tranny with no load.
It could be the pinion/spur gear mesh it set to tight.
A lot of folks just cut a small strip of copy paper, and insert between the gears. Push them together tight, secure the motor screws, and spin out the paper. That will set your gap, and remove any lateral stress on the motor shaft.

Could be you just need a bit of break-in if its a new motor too.
A 55t is a bit stiff to turn compared to a stock 27t.
There are quite a few posts about break-in, and lots of opinions,
so you will need to read up, and choose a method that suits you,
if you think this may be the issue.

To check for a stuck brush, take off the springs on the endbell of your motor while its out, one at a time, so you can see how they go back,
and the brush is underneath, at the end of the braided copper wire.

Check to see if it moves up and down freely in its channel, and pull it out to inspect the contact surface of the brush. (curved end). If its chipped, scored or burnt, you just need to put new ones in for now.

Take a peak where the brushes curved part touches inside the motor too.
That surface should look clean and smooth, with no crap stuck between the plates.

Its a good idea to spray out and clean everything since its all apart anyway, and put a drop of oil on the outside ends of the shaft for good measure.
