need so advice

I am getting ready to build another crawler. I just ordered a GMADE R1 and I have a new Novak Superduty xr sitting around and Im wanting to be able to run a lipo battery with it. Its not equipped for lipos and I was wondering if any1 uses the cheaper lvc's from Hong Kong. They are pretty much buzzers for when your voltage gets to low. The esc recommends their OWN lvc but they sell 3 of them. 1 for 2s, 1 for 3s lipo and 1 for 4s lipo. The cheap lvc from Hong Kong works with all 3 and its only a few bucks. Id get 1 from Novak but what if I decide I want to switch batteries? Any help on this would be great. Thanks.
