You can use the Big Offroader for a winch,,but you have to reverse the third channel to reverse the winch this is done through programming,,it only take a second but it isnt just click friendly. The 3rd channel on the BOR is a 2 position switch but as it states in the insructions you can use the 2 pos witch as a 3 pos by simply reversing the channel. A slightly higher end radio like the new 4 channel 2.4 ghz that RC4WD is making now( see the RC4WD) section in the vendors area on here) or something like the DX3E which will both have 3 pos switches. The winch requires you to reel out cable then stop or reverse the reel to bring the cable back in. Hope this helps. |

Afraid i've not tried the RC4WD radio, but I've just got myself a Turborix 6ch radio for under $100. It's computer programmable so should be easy to set up with a winch if you want to.

I had the silver version for a year and loved it. But I needed an easier 3rd channel for dig usage. So I got a DX3E. I'm interested to see their new 4-channel when it comes out |
