Default Dual Micro Sidewinders on 3s and 35t

I've searched, but haven't come up with anything exact. The last piece to my T1E/Berg build is the ESC's. I'm currently looking for FXR's to use, but I already have a Micro Sidewinder I can use out of my RC18. I can buy one more Sidewinder or two FXR's. Just curious if dual micros can handle 3s and Team Brood 35t motors before I make the purchase.

I've heard the micro sidewinder has drag break issues at times...is that still a concern with the new crawler program mode they have? Any other issues I should consider before I take the plunge?

Thanks

if the micro are like the old 25's with only software upgrade, i wouldn't reccomend it, the rating on them was for smaller 380 motors or up to a 55t 540 can size motor, i would pm JRH about it.

A local guy runs dual micro Sidewinders in his berg:

2010 Berg rig
(He switches to them on page 2)

I believe he runs them on 3S most of the time and sometimes 4S. The drag brake seems to be fine...

They are the updated version of the 25's.

I am trying to run dual sidewinders on a bully with a 4pk and am having the worst luck. I am using the 1/10 sidewinders and have not got the best drag brakes. I have tried everything from new and old firmware, bought new handwound motors and still nothing. I believe i am going to try 2 fxrs or the hh esc

Are you sure that you are increasing the drag brake to the full amount? IIRC, it goes up to somewhere around 200%.

Then it sounds like there is a problem with your motors. What are you running? What springs and brushes? When was the last time the motors were rebuilt?

I have one Mamba Max in my 9 pound super and it holds well. Thats with $12 55t lathe motors. I would check and reset the endpoints and throttle travel on both esc's at the same time to make sure they are finding center.

the motors are brand new 37t handwounds. It did the same thing with used 55t integy lathes.

I would recommend the mamba micro pro, they will run cooler and have a longer life. Seems that quite a few people are trying them.

I have been beating on my Micro Pro's for a little over a week now with 40t HH hand wounds and 3cell lipos and they keep asking for more.
I made the switch from FXR's to these and the brake is on par and they run cooler.

I think that the Micros are great but the FXR is a good unit to.
Before I would start to highly suggest one over the other the Micro's have to hold up for a while. Now if they make it a few months in my rig it will for sure be what ESC I recommend for rigs that do not have room for something like the HH ESC.

I'm running the mamba micro pros in my berg with 37ts and 3s lipo, and they are great. Has anyone tested them on 4s long enough to give a good opinion on them?
