ok guys school me! need to get my hands on a decent lipo charger. I just ordered a Holmes Hobbies 25C 1300mah lipo 3 cell 11.1V yesterday to go with his esc and motors. Now i need a decent charger, i have been looking around for betteries and you guys have given me alot to think about. But i will be honest i have noooooo idea where to start with a lipo charger! i was looking at the turnigy 8 but no one has that in stock. will the 6 be ok? or should i be looking at something else. I really dont want to get stupid cost wise, but i dont want to buy junk. |

This is a very good Accurate charger (EOS0606i). Comes with the power supply inside the charger. I would suggest just getting this. I've run all the cheap chargers and wish i would have gotten this one off the bat when I started lipos (just bought this 2 mths ago). http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...5&cat=7&page=1 A cheaper alternative, not so accurate but ok charger. http://www.valuehobby.com/product_de...13&item_id=110 http://www.valuehobby.com/product_de...13&item_id=197 Make sure what ever charger you get, the balance plug on your HH lipo is compatable with the charger. You may need to buy an balance adapter to balance charge. I didn't see exactally what kind of balance tap Holmes puts on his packs... Last edited by Blood_Clod; 05-12-2010 at 01:07 PM. |

x2 on the SureCharge 2000 from Racer's Edge. Had mine for over a year now and it still works like a charm. It also comes with the squid leads so you can charge deans, traxxas, tamiya, etc. It comes with the taps that charge Eflites, not sure which taps they are. Also has a handy aluminum carrying case (for those of us that are not gentle with our electronics). $129.99 at RPP | |

I looked everywhere when I bought my Hyperion, Jason has the best price anywhere and that includes China. Customer service was top notch also. It's a great charger at a geat price, just remember to get a "squid" adapter if your batteries have different plugs. I also like the 45C batteries he sells, perfect size and lots of punch. |

I have two of the turnigy 6's and i couldnt be happier. They do everything I need them to do and i was able to buy two for less than one of the hyperions. Sure if you are made of money go for the hyperion or something like that, if you need to charge some lipos on a budget the Turnigy will get you going for sure. |

add another for the hyperion. ive had an 0606I for 6 months now and love it. like opthers mentioned, dont forget charging adapters, and the other thing is find out what kind of balance plugs are on your packs and get the proper board for it. there are several different balance boards for the hyperion, the charger comes with the board for hyperion packs, but thats not a commonly used plug.

I have 0606i I like it. But I won't buy another simply because it sucks to charge one battery at a time. I look into charger that charge muilt battery at once.

I went the cheap route when I switched to LiPos 2 years ago, I got a second hand Onyx 230 and I purchased a Hyperion balancer from Holmes Hobby. It isn't the prettiest setup, but it hasn't failed me yet.

the onyx 230 isnt a bad charger for the price, however by the time you add a blinky balancer in you may as well buy a charger with a built in balancer
