Default esc & motor temps

I am running a sidewinder with a holmes hobbies 35t motor on 3s. I have a 16t pinion and a 87t spur. This set up is in an ax-10. With a good wide open throttle blast for about 20 seconds I am seeing esc temps of 85f and on the motor 125f. Is this normal?

Yes. What were you expecting, it to get hotter then that?

Fyi, you could put a 20-23 tooth pinion gear on that motor and get more wheelspeed with minimal low speed loss.

I tried the 20t pinion today. Was alot of fun. Temp on the sidewinder hit 120f and the motor hit 145f. Ran for about 45 mins.
