Default can somebody explain me the BEC thing?

hello:
I have found that sometimes the HITEC servo does not have the power to turn the tyres. I solved that same problem on my full side Jeep with a hydro assist
BUT
being new to RC can figure out what to do.
The BEC is the solution?
Thanks
Eduardo

what servo have you got? a BEC might be the fix but if you have a weaker servo it may not help any.

Assuming the servo "needs" more power and it is not getting it from the ESC, yes, a BEC is probably the solution.

As suggested - if it is just a weak servo, giving it more power will not help things.

I have a question to go along with this thread. reguarding my E-maxx. I have a new servo, not the best but its the Waterproof one that comes stock on the new e-maxx's I can hear the servo turning but not turning the wheels when sitting still, only when I take off the tires will turn and then they turn great when driving.

Would i need to add a additional battery source to the reciver to help the turning ?

Servo saver? You might need one with a stiffer spring...

Yup, sounds like a squishy servo saver to me too.

Default the servo is HITEK HS640MG

Is that a weak servo?
Can I get more power steering with any other servo?
Thanks

What servo are you using? HS640mg is not a Hitec model.

If its a 645, they are decent servos but in no way the strongest. However they do respond quite well to higher voltage via a BEC.

Especially if you are running a 3S lipo and stalling the motor often...
