| Nosram Hawk Power Reverse - good for crawling?
I have a Nosram Hawk Power Reverse in one of my carpet racers that I am thinking of putting in my new AX10. I'm running a Novak 55t and an Integy 75T in it, and the Nosram is rated up down to 15t, so that is ok. It also has zero reverse delay, so that is also good. It has always worked well on my racer, no problems or glitches but I never used it for inching along. Would it be worth putting it in? I also have an HPI Jolt+, but have been told they are "quirky" (polite way of saying they are crap). Currently I'm running a dual motor ESC on one pair of leads which I figure is not good. Besides, it has a 4 second delay for reverse which is driving me nutz! Anyone have an opinion? Don't have the money to buy a new ESC at this time, so recommendations of what to buy are nice but useless for now. |

It should work ok but you won't have a drag brake which is helpful when crawling.

| It is really a MUST have when crawling. When you are on a downhill the ESC uses drag brake to hold the rig from just rolling down the hill. Do yourself a favor and pickup an ESC with proper crawling features. Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster, Castle Sidewinder and Tekin FXR would be my first suggestions. |

Hmmmm.... I'll have to try my Nosram Hawk then. It has brake - I used to lock up the wheels on my carpet racer by letting go of the throttle and putting into a skid, so I think it has what you are talking about. I'm just looking for "good enough" for now, then I will upgrade as needed later on.
