You mean after running it througgh the water it goes haywire or just after regular us? cause I've had zero problems with mine except when I get too close to the axial with the transmitter. I haven't runi through water yet but will soon. might be just something your doing wrong. best of luck to you.

I had mine stop working after submerging it, but after I inspected it I had cracked the case in a crash earlier that day. Other than that I haven't had any problems.

According to this: Input voltage: 4-8 Cells (4.8 to 9.6 Volts DC)

So as long as you don't go over 2s you should be fine.

If you're going to use a lipo, get an external LVC (Low-voltage cutoff), because the XL5 doesn't have an internal LVC. Better to be safe then sorry.

Note: This only works with the blue-case XL5, and has known compatibility issues with the original gold-case XL5.

I love this ESC. I run several of them on my brushed rigs, and they've proven faultless over the years.

On novak's page it says it is not compatible with the blue case and may or may not be compatible with the gold case. Has anybody used this with a blue or gold case? I have a blue case and would like to know?

Xl5 not being waterproof due to case crack?
LOL. They dip the thing in epoxy. I have one that I rewired myself and it's a pain getting to the board! Besides that I've plugged in a 3s and gotten 5min of a fast stock slash untill the overheat thing starts to happen. The thing is in my electronics box now, still works though. And still waterproof with a huge gouge in it.

Sorry to dredge up lain posts
