| need help...Hitec HS-7955TG
Hi, I just finished my crawler. It has a goat 3s, 21.5 turn brushless, and a hitec 7955TG servo. I run a 5000 mah 30c 2c Lipo. The problem is after running the crawler for 5 - 10 min. the servo seems to lose alot of its power. After I let the crawler rest a few min. it seems to get the power back until another 5 - 10 min pass and it gets weak again. My goat ESC has a internal 6v BEC. I have a external BEC that came with the goat system. My servo only requires 6v so I do not run the external one. The ESC manual says the external BEC is for run ning 3c. My questions are why does my servo go weak? And will the external BEC help. |

are you positive you are wired correctly? you might be surging the servo and its cuts off to protect the circuits.

perhaps there is thermal protection for the internal bec? I say wire up the external since you have it anyway and see if the problem persists.

i have read others that are having that issue with the goat and 7955 I think they ended up having to go to an external bec.

You need the BEC for the reciever, and most servos can only take 6V, but the 7955 can take 7.4V so it might be better to run the servo directly from the battery, just run the signal wire to the reciever. When electronics run slow it usually means something is getting hot, when it burns things stop. A BEC works harder to reduce higher voltages. It's likely that the internal one can only handle 2S and the external one is better and can cut down from a 3S, so you could try that also, shouldn't do it any harm to run on lower voltage. Cheers. |

the 7955 is rated only to 6V NOT 7.4v only the 7950 and 7940 are rated up to 7.4v but you should try the external bec to see if that helps any

2X.... Run the extrnal BEC at 6.0V. Not at 7.4v.

I agree with the above. External BEC and i bet your problems will probably disappear.

add 7954 to your list of 7.4 volt servos, but I burnt mine up after 3 months of use. I'll be getting a spare.

the 7955 and 7950 are 2 different servos and the fact that its g2 means nothing all the 7955tg's can handle on 6v safely while the 7950/7940/7954 are the high volt servos
