trying to put a crawler together for a buddy and need to no if it will handle 9.6v batts they are aa nicads he has a few from some old rc's

Those nicad batteries are trash either go with nimh or lipo. they don't hold memory like nicad does.  |

Yes they will handle the 9.6's. They'll also handle 3s lipo's...unofficially of course.

I used to run mine on 9.6v all the time! and it never had a problem! i herd they where good to 12v but ive only went 9.6v max and never had trouble just had to add a BEC
