Not sure if this will help you but anyways...

I had a similar problem... I like having a fast reverse, so I swapped the motor rotation on my ESC where reverse was faster. Adjusting the EPAs and deadband helped to make things reasonable. It's not exactly a fix...more like a bandaid for a problem I don't care to understand.

I have a Goat 2S and 18.5, DX3.0.

Have you calibrated the ESC to the radio? Have you checked your EPA's. It is possible that the person that had the rig before you cranked up the end bell on the motors.

X2, this is what I first though of when I read your post. Your first step should be to cal your ESC to your TX.

Please help us help you, could you throw a little more punctuation in your posts, it makes them a lot easier to read.

Do you have the castle link? If not then get it! All of those adjustments can be made to the ESC settings!

First he needs to calibrate the ESC to the Transmitter. Changing settings on the ESC with the Castle Link will not help his problem if the radio and speed control are not calibrated to each other.

Hold trigger full on and then power on the ESC, it'll beep some then go full reverse, beep some more, then release at neutral.

Instruction manual is here

Too much advanced timing on the motors would be my guess.

I had a similar problem, even after re-binding & re-calibrating numerous times my rig was still glitchin & had minimal power. I called the tech dept. at horizon/spektrum & they walked me through a fix & it worked fine ever since. It was somethin simple but I can't remember exactly what it was. Make a 15 min. call & they can guid you through fixin it.

I had a customer in the other day that had a similar problem with his DX3R. He had the brake adjustment turned down to zero and he turn off the brake adjustment in the Switch Selector section of the radio.

Make sure your BRAKE adjustment is 100%, shown at the bottom of the main screen under the steering and throttle trim. It is adjustable via the 'E' button if you are using your default button allocations.

Check in the MONITOR section of the radio to make sure that you are getting full travel in both direction from the throttle channel.

I believe the sidewinder does. The castle link would allow you to have the same reverse speed as the forward throttle or adjust it to be slower compared to the forward speed.

Have you tried to run a different TX and RX setup. Maybe hook up an old Traxxas ( or whatever ) TX/RX combo and see if your reverse is still slower. If so it may be some adjustment on the DX3R and not the motors or ESC.
