Default How many volt should I set my BEC

I know in a nitro setup, I use the 6V receiver pack and at 6V, the battery is pretty much dead already. At full charge, it is at 5*1.45= maybe around 7V off the charger?

So my question is what voltage I should set my BEC to get most out of my Servo, currently I have it set at 6V.

The bec won't give you any higher voltage than what the battery can deliver. So setting it at 7v will deliver the 7v until it lowers the voltage of the battery.

most say to set it for whatever your servos are rated for, typically 4.8, 6 or 7.4 volts. however like you said a typical receiver pack in a nitro vehicle will put out 7 volts fully charged and you dont hurt any radio gear thats rated for 6 volts. i myself run my bec at 6.7 volts, i figure that a nitro reciever pack doesnt stay at 7 volts for long once a slight load is on it, a full 7 volts may cause the servos to heat up a bit. never had an issue or even a hot servo with 6.7, not gonna gain anything by going higher

I have one of mine at 6.8(7955 in comp rig) and the one on the scaler at 7.0 since I run the servo and winch off of it and wanted just a hair more out of the winch.

I run mine at 6.5 (8711) and after an hour of crawling and pushing the servo hard it's just a little warm, I might try a couple tenths more.
