How much are you guys paying for this esc? for a couple more bucks, around $48.00 you could get a svc sidewinder lipo capable, drag brake and programmable, this esc was ok for when Dez found about them but i don't think they have a place for crawler nowadays ( i bought around 8 of this pups back in the day and smoked around 5) IMHO.

like said earlier, will work fine with something with worm gears. just be sure to not get it wet. i used one on my tlt base comp rig back in the day and i got it soaked, this was back when we ran nickel pack batteries, lol. i left it connecting for some weird reason and the power switch was off, it took off across my floor by itself at full speed shooting sparks out of the esc. it freaked me out cause the radio was also off on the table. i called my buddy who had the same esc and got it wet and left the battery hooked up as well, i called him quickly and told him to take the battery out. just a funny story that involved this esc, thought you might get a kick out of it snd learn something from it as well, never get it wet unless you water proof it and always disconnect the batteries.
