Default Lipo reciever pack help!

I know this is mostly an electric powered forum but I just thought someone might be able to help me out.

I have a Nitro Revo and it needs a new rx battery. I want to use lipo but I want to be sure which C rating to get. The packs I have been looking at are 1000-1300mah and 20C.

Is 20C too much discharge for my servos (Hitec)? I have seen a few rx packs that are 8-15C but they are much higher in price than the ones I am looking at.

I will be using a BEC to control the voltage but my concern is the discharge.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Actually the majority of lipos that are RX specific, usually have a 2C or 3C rating. There are some that have higher ratings, but that is the norm. A higher rating will in no way harm your servos. They will just draw the required current. The battery it self will not discharge extra current unless needed.

Thanks for replying! My brain was trying to tell me this but I just wanted to make sure.

The search is still on for that one perfect lipo that will fit in the battery box. So far everything is just a little bit too wide. I guess I can take the dremel to it.

Thanks again!

Hope you take the dremel to the box and not the battery!
BTW take a look at this one:

It is quite the perfect size to use in a buggy/truggy box along with a castle BEC.

I did look at that one but my box is made for a 5-cell stick pack.

Here's the one I think I will be getting:

The length and thickness are fine, but the width is 5mm too wide.

You should also take into account the fact that the wires exit from the side. This could be a problem if you are too tight width wise.

Well being 5mm too wide will make me either mount it in a different location or modify the box. Once I get it I can get a better idea of what to do.
