Default 55T vs 27T with small pinion?

Just bought the Honcho RTR. Want speed to be in between a trail truck and crawler.
Is it possible to get similar torque and run time to a 55T, with a small pinion (12t) on the 27T motor?
Thought I would try this before buying a 35T or 45T motor.
I love the way my AX10 ARTR crawls with the Tekin 55T and 14t pinion.
I'm suprised the Honcho comes with a 20t pinion.

If you have a 55t throw it in and see what it does. Personally, I have been running a 27t in my SCX since I built it. That has been well over a year ago.

The rtr Honcho was kicking ass at the MSD Scale Nats. Box-stock!! Alot of guys were doing better with it than there own personal rigs...
