Default tx/rx matching

I just bought a used futaba 3pm , and I have an airtronics reciever . Both of them are in 75mhz ,but niether have crystals . So when shopping for crystals do I need to stick to Futuba tx rx crystals or futaba tx and airtronics rx crystals? Thanks in advance -Bob

won't work... futaba is positive shift and airtronics is negitive shift. No matter what crystals you try they will not talk to each other PERIOD.

You'll need a futaba OR hitec 75Mhz receiver with the same brand crystals... in other words hitec crystals for hitec receiver and futaba for futaba.

Yep... works just fine either single conversion or dual conversion... just make sure you buy the right Hitech crystal's for either the dual or single conversion receiver.

I run a mix of hitec receivers both dual and single conversion on either my 3pks or the couple of 3PM's I still have kicking around.

On a side note I use a spektrum module on my 3PKS as well... just noticed the antenna is cracked at the base where it folds I've only had it a few months and have been EXTRA careful with it. In all the years I've been using 72-75 Mhz radios(20+) I have NEVER broken an antenna... I did wear a few out after YEARS of use.

I frickin called futaba and asked them about adding another vehicle to the ten model memory and they said as long as its 75mhz and the same channel I would be fine. Sucks when tech dosent know their own product.

Huh...new one to me... If this were true why did novak make thier XXL receivers shift selectable? seems like it would have been a waste of effort Unless something has changed Airtronics/JR will not work with Futaba/hitec.

I did get the shifts wrong in my first post... old age bad memory futaba/hitec is Negitive shift and Airtronics/Jr is Positive.
