| Turnigy Battery connector problem
Okay got a brand new set of turnigy 3s 1500 MaH batteries and a turnigy accucel 6 charger. Both worked fine until i changed out the connectors. My rig uses the traxxas TRX connector so i wanted to change the batteries out to match and figured I would change the charger too instead of having to make some weird adapter... And start the problems........ Now when ever i connect my lipos to my charger and try to start charge the charger does a battery check and comes back with a connection break error. This only happens on the lipos, my NIMH battery with the same connector works fine, discharging and charging fully. Continuity checks on both the battery leads and the charge leads show a whooping .06 ohms so doubt thats the issue can't get a current reading cause the charger never starts charging. any ideas cause i didnt exactly leave a lot of wire comming out of the old connectors so im not going back. |

okay call it restlessness or impatience either way i have my issue... seems i was a fool and didn't think when i cut the power leads i cut them TOGETHER giving the packs a brief moment of dead short. Too used to the less temperamental NIMH packs so apon voltage checking the packs found 1 dead cell per pack. hence the connection issue. So not wanting to give up 2 brand new packs and after berating myself for being an idiot broke out the ole soldering iron and went to work. lifted the dead cell from one pack and replaced it with the same cell from the other pack sure im out 1 lipo but hey its better than being out BOTH. on a side note the battery's ugly as sin now (no shrink wrap or decals had to peel it off to get the cell.) but its charging! thank god for battery surgery. |

You'll have that. That's learning the hard way I guess. Always a good idea to do one wire at a time to avoid that. |
