Default 55t vs 65t

would it be overkill going with a 65t instead of a 55t in a tlt close to stock weight wise running i dont have either right now

I tried a 65 turn with 12/87 gearing and it was way slow. I never tried other gearing, I put a 45 turn in and left it alone since.

the use of changing from 55t to 65t is to get less wheel spin or to get more torque?

Both. They are directly proportional to each other. If one happens, so does the other. I have a 55t in mine, and I like it. I would be interested in trying out a 45t though just to see what it's like. Heck it's only $20.
