| MMP vs BR-XL
I have been running Holmes BR-XL ESCs for a while and love them. The low speed control is unmatched. My question is, has any one compared Holmes ESC to the Mamba Max Pro? I know the size of the MMP is larger and it can run brushless, but I am concerned about the low speed control being very smooth and with out being punchy like the FXR is. I have a ton of threads on the MMP, but no one mentions how much they like the low speed control. I am guessing that is because most of them run their rigs fast with this ESC. Any insight would be appreciated. |

Its as smooth as mm is, never tried a hh esc but I would use one over an mmp cause of size, not needing an ext bec and its cheaper.

I really like my mmp regardless of size, and a minor setup issue today, but if I had it do over again I would lean on the hh because JRH is a part of our community and also no need for a BEC. You get a mmp you will be happy but size does create challenges.

I run older mm on my super. They are smooth and hold up well. I do not have a hh esc but I feel if you are never going to use the esc in anything but a crawler the hh would be the way. A little cheaper and I have heard they work very well. But I personally like the mamba max because I can use it in my sc10 or slash 4x4 of need be, but also works great as a crawler esc.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will be getting another Holmes ESC I have been very happy with them, and I now see no reason to try something different. |
