I'm sure people have done it but can i run a higher voltage to my servos then the mfg says? how much higher with out damage? is it worth the extra torque? |

might get more help if you list which servos you are questioning about.

There is an old saying in electronics that goes "You can't miniaturize a Watt". Meaning that as electronic devices get smaller the power density gets higher with the heat generated having to go somewhere. So ya, you might be fine and you might be not. You might be fine for a while and then "poof". The true test will be working the servo hard on a blazing hot day in the sun, at the higher voltage you have chosen. I would think that any decent servo manufacturer does environmental qualification testing on their products to ensure that they work reliably over a specified range of voltages and temperatures. Operate outside of that condition set and you are on your own. Not a chance I'd be willing to take in a comp situation. Narly1 |

I run my 7955tg at 7.4 volts but it is rated @6 volts. Just make sure you keep an eye on the temp so you dont burn it up. Good luck

When the case temp hits 140f, you have gone too far. I would recommend that you don't push it too hard, especially in hot weather.
