Default TQ4 with 3 racing winch

Ok- I just got my honcho and its got a 3 racing winch setup...

I have a Traxxas tq4 with the 5 chan rec. It has the small silver 3pos toggle switch. With the winch plugged into ch 4, the top position, and middle position both push the line out. The bottom position takes it back in.

To test the winch, I plugged it into the steering ch and it works great. It is stopped with neutral steering, and goes in/out with right/left.

I put the steering servo in the ch 4 and tried the toggle switch. top and middle go left, bottom goes right.

There are no settings for this switch, correct? It looks like I may have a faulty radio? Its brand new.

Thanks for any thoughts

Your radio is not faulty, it just doesn't do what most people expect it to do. I have plans to make an adapter to fix this issue.
Please see the following link and check out option 3 for what is really going on with your radio. Please vote or leave any suggestions to help direct my efforts.
