What does everyone use/prefer in their 2.2?

I currently run a 2-cell for both competitions and bashing around the back yard.

I'm running a 3S in my LCC now. I don't usually run it any faster than I did on 2S, but it has the extra kick available for those times where you need it.

3s to 6s, depending on the wind that I am working with. 27t on 4s is mighty slick.

Converted from nimh to 3s about a month ago on my LNC when I installed the Goat 18.5. Huge improvement plus so much lighter.

When you go to the 4S do you split the pack up (like saddle packs) or run one large 4S pack?

Always ran 2s in my rigs until the day I tried 3s and I was hooked, so I run 3s in my comp rigs and 2s in the scalers. Hoping to change all the scalers to 3s eventually

I run one large pack, but having saddle packs would work well for comp crawlers.

Seems that anything over 3s isn't really needed for being very competitive, based on feedback from my drivers. The reason is that we rarely need more power than a good 35t motor will provide on 3s. If we do need a bit more power we can always drop down a few turns or add some more timing advance.

So would 4s and 45t's be as fast as 35t's and 3s ?

Depending on the build and timing of the motors, it can be very close.

I run a 7t HH with a 3s and love it, but if I go down to a 2s, how much would I be missing out on? The only reason for asking is space savings(and weight).

Rule of thumb man.... Volt up, gear down. I run 4S on 45t Novaks. Works great, and I have tons of power. More than I know what to do with.

3S for 2.2 comp rigs.
I think I will try 4S and 45T's in my Super for next season.
