Default axial 55t motor question

just installed it with a 14t pinion from calikingcrawler. the torque is nuts, but the motor itself seems extremely rough, jerky and hard to turn unlike the 27t, which turns very smooth and effortless. crawling is great with the power from the 55t, but it feels like it saps a ton of battery power just to spin it. Is this normal with new motors or else what do i do?

I had that problem with my integy 55T. It was pretty jumpy and jittery on climbs. I put the stock 27T in and using a XL-5 ESC and it works great.
