Default MMP shut off to early

I have my lipo cutoff set to 9.9 on my mamba max pro but it shuts down and i still have about 10.1 to 10.3 volts in the battery once i plug it in. is this common?

why would you have it set to 9.9??? lipo's lowside are 3volt's / cell. 9.0 would be a better setting if your running a 3S lipo, use the auto lipo setting it seems to function correctly no matter what battery your using. and yes i've noticed that it cuts off a little early, but i would rather mine cut off early than over discharge it and ruin my batt

Yes. The voltage of the battery will recover a bit once the load is removed.

Set your cutoff as high as you can stand it for max battery life.

regardless of the cutoff voltage, your packs will always be higher when unhooked. when you put a load on the battery the voltage drops, and the cutoff will kick in as soon as it hits your setting. if you are close to the cutoff you may notice on a hard hit of the throttle itll cutoff, but rolling into the throttle it wont, thats because its not pulling the voltage down as hard.

long story short, its normal.

as for cutoff, 3.3v/s is a little extreme, 3.0 or 3.1 would be fine
