Default CC SW and 3pm-x calibration issues

Problem.

Installed new rx's on two trucks and cannot get the sidewinders to pick up reverse.

Have hot-wired both unis and all settings are correct (brushed reversing etc)
Have bound Tx and RX and can steer but cannot get either RX to program the ESC's. (following drivers guide instructions).

What is wrong with this picture??????
