Smile Castle creations sidewinder micro Question

I'm getting a scaler and i want to get an esc that can handle a 35t - 55t brushed motor, and yet be tiny enough to easily conceal in a water proof container.

i like the price of the CC Sidewinder Micro, and its size but can it handle ^
And 2s - 3s lipo?

Thanks,
Lance

I can tell you that I have run and seen several people run mamba 25's and micro sidewinders. As long as you are running a 55t you will be fine with 2-3s. You have to use a bec with it though. I woulnt recommend going any lower turn than 55 though.

Why only 55t for the sidewinder micro? Could you explain?

I am planning to use a 35t with it - 1/18 scale, but still 35t.

540 can motors naturally draw way more amps than a 380 will. I used to run a 16t 380 in my mini on this esc with no problems. It's only when you run a 540 that your arethis limited. The hotter the motor the more amp draw it will have and his esc isn't going to hold up to a hot 540 can motor. This is why I wouldn't run any hotter than a 55t 540 with this esc. You will be fine running the 380.

I wouldn't recommend it. Some guys do it, but they are playing with a time bomb!

proof of poof!! I tried that looking for the Lightweight rig and poof, 3s lipo and 35 turns didnt make it 10 foot!!!!! I really dont think they like the 3s at all. they were getting warm just sitting after the plug in and yes they were programmed for 3s and calibrated. Go ahead and get you the mamba micro pro, you will thank yourself later..

so the MMMP can handle up to 3s with a 45t motor, How about a handwound with the Mamba max micro pro, and 3s? Also this will be in a water tight container, do you think it will go poof, (overheat).

What other esc's are small, cheap($100 and under), and reliable?

I have been using castle creations products for a long time and love them but for the scaler, i dont know what i should use.

Thanks
Lance

If you have $100 to spend do yourself a favor and get yourself a tekin fxr. They are tiny. Smaller than the mamba micro pro. If room wasn't an issue I would get a Holmes torquemaster esc and pay the extra $10 to have it waterproofed. Then you wouldn't even need to put it in a box.
