Default TQ3 and MOA

Probably a silly question and has probably been asked before - but i couldnt find it.

I have a modded TQ3 that i was using for a Clod based Super some years ago.
I added a 3 way switch so i could have rear steering - Full left - Off - Full right.

Is it possible, with just one ESC, to use this 3 way switch to control the 2 motors instead of using it for rear steer?
As an example, Left could be front motor running only, Right could be rear motor running only and Centre (off) could be both motors running - basically a dig unit.
If this would work, im guessing that when one motor only is activated, i wouldnt have any throttle control for it - it would either be full on or full of, or would it just be activated and still have throttle control on it?

Hopefully all this makes sense as it was just an idea that may save a few hundred bucks on a new controller.
The ESC is a Novak Rooster if that makes any difference?

Absolutely

You will need a dig switch hooked to your third channel.

I would suggest the punk dig.

RC4WD also has their rocker dig.

You could also do a digamajig.
