Default Battery wire size

I have turnigy 2s 5200mah 30c battery but the noodles on it was too big(I think), its 8awg, had problem with space
Is it save to change it to 12awg or 10awg wire without make any issues?

Thanks

30 amps continuous with a 5200 mah battery is 156 amps. Let's say it can do 60 amp bursts, which shoots it up to 312 amps. Pretty substantial amount of juice flow there. Hence the super thick wire.

I'd guess it'd be safe, just don't go using it with a 12 turn motor in a touring car.

After a hard run, feel the wires for any temperature. If they're hot as heck, you know you went too small.
