| 7950....kinda sucks?
I switched over to a 7950 on my bully a couple months ago and never really "fell in love" with it. Seemed to get weak real fast. But I put one on my xr10 also thinking that since its way lighter of a setup that it wouldnt be as bad but I have the same problem. Im running it at 7.4v. I get maybe 10 minutes of good run time out of it before it starts losing power and getting hot. Is this because its got so much power and is running such a high voltage so it heats up real fast or what? And no, I dont have any binding issues and epa's are set. I kinda miss the days when 333 all I needed |

I have no problems with my 7950. I went through numerous 8711s in my berg and the hitec has never done me wrong. With that said, it is weaker in the xr10 for sure. I think its just the design of the steering linkage.

No problems with mine, running it at 7.4v but it's in my scaler so it's not as abused. If yours is getting hot, maybe drop to 7v and see if it helps. Do some bench testing with a thermometer and let us know what you find. Another option for you might be an Airtronics 94780, I'm pleased with mine in my XR10 so far. |

I've got two of the 7950's and have no problems of heat issues at all @ 7.2V in both AX-10 or my XRTEN.

I have a 7950 on my super along with a 7980... my 7950 gets more cool runtime than my 7980... I'd say it is a better servo than the 7980, for what they are

I have one also, it's always had good power. In my ax10 it got really hot all the time. Then I built my berg and put it in there and it doesn't get nearly as hot even after long run times. Only conclusion i've come to is that maybe it's rig and setup specific. I felt no binding in my ax10 and adjusted my endpoints and still it got hot. I do have to say that hitec has excellent customer service. I have a hs985 that i've sent in twice and they've fixed it no questions asked other than receipt. |

I havent got out to run it yet but I wired the bec striaght to the servo and it alot more responsive now than before so maybe it will work better for me.
