| Puller or Hand Wound?
Looking for a new motor/esc combo for a new TTC build. BR-XL with 10T (used motor) or 35T (new motor) hand wound both on 4S. Which motor would have more torque or wheel speed? |

On 4s the Puller will kill all the way around, but gearing plays a huge factor with overall speed and temps so keep that in mind. I know John runs one of his Comp rigs on 4 cell; you may want to read through some of his posts to get more info. |

Yeah really wouldn't want to burn out a puller motor!

my puller I had got reallll hot on 3s, I would imagine 4s would be the demise of the puller.

The 10t will take 4s, but 3s would be recommended on both the puller and 35t. The puller will win, hands down.

Thanks John! I think I will stick with the 35t then...looks like the puller deal isn't going to work out. Plus couldn't find any available on your site!

John, what would be the things to be concerned about when running a 10t puller on 4s? I'm thinking of making the swap for my 2.2 scaler, which is currently on 3s. 95% of the time it'll be low speed crawling. I would imagine the motor would be more susceptible to damage under high current loads, but I'd like your opinion on it. What would be the things to watch out for to prevent melting down a 10t on 4s? I should point out the ESC is your TorqueMaster and the batteries would be two 2s batteries in series (20-30c each). Thanks! Tommy Last edited by Tommy R; 09-30-2010 at 02:51 PM. |
