Default Servo stall :(

Just recently upgraded to some new electrics and now have an issue with the steering servo 'stalling'

The set up is:
* 2 x 45t Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Pro Handwound
* Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL (with Holmes Hold at 90% drag
brake as the only changes made through the castle link)
* Punk RC DIG
* Hitech 7955TG servo
* Trunigy 1300mAh 3S1P 11.1v 20C 30C burst lipo
* Futaba RX/TX 2.4GHz

When the servo is under a med/heavy load e.g. trying to turn on a high grip surface or the front wheel is bound, unless I have some forward or reverse throtle applied the servo will not move, lift the rig up to release any pressure on the steering and it works fine, likeiwse if I apply a chunk of throttle and get the wheels moving/spinning the steering will respond to the TC inputs.

I know that the Hitec servo is programable however the default position for 'Overload protection' is off and i've not made any changes to the servo as I don't have the Hitech HFP-20

It feels like its a power issue to the servo, like it doesn;t have enough juice to get it moving, the servo has a bunch of torque and i'd not had the issue with the previous set up (Novak motors, Novak 3S Goat Punk DIG and same Hitec servo)

Any ideas?? Electronics are not my strong suit

Well, the ESC has an internal BEC, but most of them are typically flawed by design. The BEC in the BRXL works better than most, but I am still occasionally able to stall it.....so I installed an External BEC. Problem gone. The blue one should suit your needs perfectly. It can also be programmed using the castle link for whatever voltage you wish...it comes stock set at 5.1V.

Yep, agreed. The internal one on the brxl is great, but just not powerful enough for the really strong servos.

Thanks, the servo stall is under mid/heavy loads and the 7955TG is a pretty powerful servo, so the BES should get me sorted

I have a Hi tec hs-5645mg dig servo.

I also have the cc bec

I am wondering what the safest level of voltage I can supply to the stock servo and running with my ax10. I have alot of weight on tires.

Servo says 168oz at 6v. how much more can i so safely
