| RC4WD outcry ESC no steering power!
I read and re-read the manual, the BEC appaears to be installed corectly, tried with 2 differn't servos, that both work fine in my other crawlers, has anyone run into this? to clarify, it steers, but with little steering power, it will steer when i hold it in the air, or the car is moving, but not enough power to steer on its own weight, it is a very light crawler to boot. WOW! I removed the BEC and hooked the red wire back up on the ESC signal wire and this SH!TTY servo feels like it has 896oz-in of torque. I quess i'll run it like that till I cn try the BEC on something else, on my outcry the BEC plugs into the ESC on some pics on the circut board, in the manual its plugged into a pigtail off of the battery connector, should I do that instead? |

If it's anything like a Castle BEC it goes between the ESC and battery, and plugs into the Aux of the reciever... that's why the Red wire on the ESC is removed from the RX.

| based on the outcry manual, that is how its supposed to be wired, I got this setup used in a crawler, and it didn't work since I got it, since the guy was running it like that (wired into the pins on the ESC) I assumed a bunk servo, switched it out and same thing, I have to resolder a deans on tomarow i'll toss a pigtail on at the same time and try it that way and report back.

How does the BEC get programed? Unless it's set at a constant voltage.

hard wired to a 7.2v pack, still no torque. I guess i'll be running without a BEC for a little while on this RC

Not that I know anything but. I don't think you have it connected correctly. It looks as though you are pluggint it into a fan outlet on the esc. it should be hard wired into the incoming battery wires. Sometihng doesnt ltook right there. On my castle creations bec, it defaults to like 5.1v or something I have a cc programmer thingy from my revo rc car and I programmed it to put it 6.5v |

well I contacted RC4WD and the email said "It may be a faulty BEC. We have replacements on our site." and they supplied me with a link to there BEC, ( http://rc4wdstore.com/2/product_info...965fe7746efc88 ) I guess i'll be ordering a coupld of Castle Creations BEC's instead. | |
