Hit the rocks tonight and all is good for about 10 min. Than no gas, everything else works. Take out the motor put in a new one, works just fine again. Hook up the pulled motor straight to a battery and it works? Swap it back and will not work. any thoughts?? novak 55/rooster crawler, new motor that i had was a stock axial 27. i am stummped..... j |

Yeah, probably a hung brush or a comm that is wobbly. Maybe even just dirty. In other words, it needs some attention. Sometimes even new brushed motors stop working under certain conditions.

wtf....I took apart the 55, looks good (tried taking pic). Hooked up a second 55 and still no go connected to the esc, but the stock 27 works just fine connected to rig. all three will work, and sound fine, when connnected striaght to a battery.....? i am trully confussed.... |

My only guess at this point, is that something is shorting out in it, so the ESC is seeing the short and refusing to send power...........but it works on the direct battery, because there is no such circuitry to detect a short, just raw power..... Later EddieO |

Sounds like an ESC or radio issue. Bad solder joint, bad radio connection, a million things it "could" be. You may try contacting novak about it for further service. Do you have a voltmeter? You could check the motor outputs for any voltage when throttle is used. |

On a brushed motor, it will show a very low resistance from pos to neg posts when the motor is not spinning. Not much use for figuring things out, other than a dirty comm or motor with no continuity. Swapping out another ESC would be a good way for testing as well. Last edited by JohnRobHolmes; 09-18-2010 at 12:33 PM. |

Well i check voltage from esc, pull the trigger..Voltage is on the money. Hook up the 55 (2 different motors), pull trigger and nothing 0V. I then try all three motors on my sons stampede, and what do you know they all work? Finally installed the ole stock 27t in my rig, and works like a champ, ran a whole battery through it...on a possitive note, loving the wheel speed . Still don't know what to think, bad esc with certain motors? does that even make sense. John you have any sales going on? thanks guys....j |

no sales right now, except for dual FXR combos. That is plain weird. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere or something. What connectors are you using? |

Could be dirty plugs on those 55t motors, or a bad fit between your ESC plug and those particular motor plugs. Wouldn't hurt to see if you are getting voltage before, and after the plug.
