Default Batteries in parallel

Hey guys I have a very limited knowledge on batteries and electronics in general. I was wondering about wiring batteries in parallel:

I have 2 1900 nimh 6 cell stick packs and was wondering if I wire them together will it go up to 3800?

Right now I could get like 10min out of one of thoes batteries is there a estimate on the run time after wired together.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, when you wire batteries in parallel, the voltage will stay the same and the capacities are added together.

Now, the real question is why you are getting such crappy performance from your batteries? I run one of my scalers on a 2700mAh pack and get about 2 hours of runtime. It sounds like your packs are not getting fully charged. Which can either be a problem with the charger or the battery.

How long are the bats on the charger before they peek?
At 2 amp charge rate 1900mah packs should take about an hour to charge. If they are peeking in like 15 minutes, they are false peeking (not fully charged) hence your short run times.
With your setup and 1900s you should see at least an hour run time per pack.

It takes about 25 to 30 minutes. The battery I am running in my truck now only lasts a half hour and it's a 3000

Yes, it will balance them.

Don't ever charge nimh or nicad in parallel, as the "peaked" cells have a lower resistance and they will overcharge as compared to the other cells in parallel. You can discharge them in parallel.

You take them apart and charge them as two packs.
