Which break in is best? How do you break in the motors for each method? Thanks

Do a search on the forum there are a lot of people who have written about this. The best way in my opinion is the water method.

| You know it can take longer then a 1/2 hour to get a reply. not everyone is on here 24/7 the water breakin is good, you can also run your truck with the motor in it very lightly the first run. Dont push the motor and dont floor it. just lightly run it Last edited by PontiacGT201; 10-07-2010 at 12:17 PM. |

The water break in method is not needed.... Run the motor at 3 volts for 5 minutes. Check the brushes, see if they are wearing evenly across the entire face. If they are, you are good to go. If they are not.......run for another minute and check again. Repeat until they wearing evenly across the entire face.... The water break in method is VERY old and really only should be used on sealed can motors......all it really does is speed it up. Certain brushes don't like it at all and often the motor isn't cleaned properly afterwards, which leads to other problems. 30+ national titles and not once did I ever break in a motor with the water method....I can't recall anyone else doing it either, with the exception of sealed can motors....
