Default Buzzing servo at idle?

Hi,
Can I ask for some advice?

I'm trying to set up my crawler and servos I'm using are hitec (hs 5645 ms) they will buzz At idle, in the crawler? But if i play with the sub trim fuctions on the hand set or the trim buttons they will stop buzzing? But after moving the steering wheel the buzzing returns? With the linkage removed from the servos their is no buzzing at all?
THIS IS with no wheels fitted and sitting on the skid plates.

I'm running two hitec hs 5645 ms servos fitted on to rc4wd alloy bumper braces, rc4wd alloy knuckles, and full metal steering arms.
And a spektrum dx3 system.

All help / adaive would be great! :-P

When the servo is engaged to try to move something it buzzes. Set it up so you hear no buzz, then move the wheels, it should buzz, pick it up and the buzz should stop, if it doesn't move the wheel left or right with your hand just a touch and it should stop. I've had this happen on a few of my larger RC's it's not that big a deal.

Yeah as long as there is something putting pressure on the servo it is going to buzz.

Digital servos are current hogs. They need a bunch of juice to work properly. What speed control are you using? If you're running a cheapie, it could be that you're maxing it out just trying to center the things.

Digitals will search for position around 300 times per second, which is why they whine. If there's something binding, they'll keep pushing against it until they blow up or mash the obstacle out of the way. They're strong but not smart. Make sure your linkage is free, but once you get wheels on and the rig on the ground it's still going to buzz as the servo fights against the tires' sidewall flex.

I'm not a big fan of digitals for crawling. They've got huge torque, but so do 1/4 scale servos or some analog servos. See JIA's post about why digitals puke for more details on the subject. Save the digis for aerobatic planes and helis.
