Default hitec hs-7950th on 3s

Looking at getting a hitec hs-7950th http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/ser...hs-7950th.html for my xr10

I says "designed to operate on a two cell LiPo Pack"

Does this mean I can only run a 2s lipo or can it also run on 3s lipo.

This refers to you not should not use a source higher then 7.4V to run the servo, almost all ESCs have a circuit in them that lowers the voltage that it sends to the radio to use. (normal is 6.0V)

You can run it in a truck when your running 3S, you just need a BEC (internal or external). If you go external use one like this;

You should go with an external BEC on that servo. Castle includes a how to wire diagram.

I am going to be using the Holmes esc http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...4&cat=2&page=1

Would I need to use a bec or will running it through the esc be good enough. I was going to run a bec as to avoid putting strain on the holmes esc. Some people have said that it will be fine just running though the esc and eliminate the bec.

Will the servo work better if I use a bec or will it make no difference if I rund it through the holmes esc

That speed controller has an internal bec, but it is set at 6v. The servo will have more torque and speed at 7.4v. I would run a castle bec set at 7.4. You will need to get a castle link to program your bec, but you will need that anyways for your speed controller.

I run a Tekin FXR with same servo set to 7.4v. You can run it at 6v, but I figured why spend the $ on a 7950 unless you are going to get all the torque it has to offer.
